Despite the title, this is a class blog for Introduction to New Media/Participatory Media held during the Summer of 2011 at Fordham University, Rose Hill Campus, in the Bronx. But we all agree that pizza with olives is quite tasty indeed!

It is crazy to believe that a couple years ago we did not even have the internet. There is not one day that goes by where I do not find myself searching the web for information. Lauren's question, "Are all of these incredible advances really making our lives' better, or are they causing a slew of new problems?", has two answers. I believe that new media and many other technological advances have substantially increased our way of living. With that being said i also feel that we have become too dependent on these technologies. In class Professor Strate had mentioned that if one was to get stuck on the road with car trouble without a cell phone that we would have no clue what to do. If we were to think back to the times where we did not have cell phones, people would have other alternatives. As newer generations form, they become more dependent on new media than the last.
