I think it is fascinating to look at new media in this light, to realize how dependent people really are on technology, and to explore the fundamental components such as energy and electricity that are crucial, and often overlooked by the ever-increasing complexity of these technological developments. It is amazing to think that all technology are extensions of the human body and their innate function; everyone has the capacity to perform these actions, but they have been overridden by the ease of something doing it better and more efficiently than they ever could. In retrospect, it is difficult to imagine living without all of these things that we now rely on. I feel as if many people would not be able to revert back to a life without all their gizmos and gadgets, and much less internet, and electricity. I think this article/Web MD diagnosis was particularly humorous, but there is so much truth in how dependent and even addicted people have become to technology. Are all of these incredible advances really making our lives' better, or are they causing a slew of new problems?
